MyEduTube.com is a video-driven content network designed for members of the
higher education community to share information via video format.
What can I do on MyEduTube.com?
You can:
- Watch videos pertaining to higher education.
- Upload college- or university-related videos.
- Mark favorite videos and/or flag for future viewing.
- Share favorite videos with friends or groups.
- Rate and/or comment on videos.
- Create relevant higher educational video based on subject matter.
- Share college/university rich content with students, faculty, staff, and researchers.
- Join Groups and become part of a new media experience.
- Meet other students, faculty, or alumni from your institution.
Do I have to be a certain age
to join?
Yes. You must be at least 16 years of age to join MyEduTube.com.
Do I have to join to watch videos?
No. You can watch any video simply by clicking on the thumbnail frame
of the video. To post videos, you must become a member and have a valid email address. Click on the
"Sign Up Today" hyperlink at the top right-hand corner of the home page.
What are Video Channels?
Video Channels are collections of videos grouped by topic or content. You can subscribe to any channel.
View your channels by clicking on the "Channels" tab.
What are Groups?
Groups are communities of users interested in a particular topic or organization.
By clicking on the "Groups" tab, you can browse the various groups. As a member,
you can start or join as many groups as you want, post videos to a group, or
watch the videos of a particular group.
How do I watch a video?
Simply click on the thumbnail image or title of any video to play the video.
What do I do if I can't see the
videos?
You need to have Flash 8 or higher in order to be able to view videos on MyEduTube.com.
You can download Flash 8 for free by visiting http://www.adobe.com.
What video format should I use
when uploading a video?
We accept 3gp, mp4, mov, asf, flv, mpg, avi, wmv, and rm formats.
Free programs you can use to encode your videos are:

Can I download videos from MyEduTube.com?

How do I prevent someone from downloading my video(s) from MyEduTube.com?
You can prevent someone from downloading your video(s) by doing the following:
- Click on "My Account Activity" in the upper right-hand corner once you log into MyEduTube.com.
- Under "My Account Activity," click on the "My Videos" tab.
- Click on the "Edit" button under the video you want to restrict.
- Select "Disabled" under "Allow External Sites to Embed this Video."
How do I upload a video to MyEduTube.com?
- Log in to MyEduTube.com. If you do not have an account, register
with MyEduTube.com by clicking on the "Sign Up Today" hyperlink in
the upper right-hand corner of the home page. Please read all of the information
under Copyright Notices, Copyright Tips, Privacy Policy,
and Terms of Use before joining and uploading any content. Links to these pages
are found at the bottom of each page.
- In the blue toolbar, click the "Upload" button.
- If you are uploading your own video from your computer, fill in
the Title, Description, and Keyword fields with the appropriate information.
Please be concise when creating a title. Make sure it contains keyword
information that makes it easy to search. Use the Description field
to give more detailed information. Fill in the Keyword field with
any relevant keywords that would help find this video. Select Category,
Program, Subject, State, Country and University from the drop-down
boxes provided. If it is a country other than the U.S., leave State
blank. Click the "Submit" button when you are done filling in all the fields.
- On the next screen, if you are uploading your own video, click the
"Browse" button, then select the video file on your computer that
you want to upload.
- If you are embedding a video from another website, click on the
"Embed" tab at the top. Copy the meta tag information from
the website and paste it into the Embed Code field. Right click on
the small thumbnail image of the video on the other website and save
it to your desktop by selecting "Save Image as..." Click the "Browse"
button next to the Thumbnail field, and find and select that file. Copy
and paste the information from the website to fill in the Title, Description,
and Keyword information. Select Category, Program, Subject, State,
Country and University from the drop-down boxes provided.
- Fill in the duration (length) of the video in hours, minutes and seconds.
- Leave the Public button selected so it is viewable by every user.
- Click "Upload." Uploading your video may take some time depending
on the file size and internet bandwidth. If your file is very large,
please email us at support@myedutube.com
so we can give you further instructions. You can keep track of the
upload status with the status bar on the page. If your video needs
to be converted over to Flash from another file format, it may take
some time before it is available for viewing. Please follow all the

What types of videos should I put on MyEduTube.com?
You can upload any video related to higher education. Here are some examples of
video topics that would be good to put on MyEduTube.com:

What is the policy on copyright
infringement?
MyEduTube, Inc., respects the rights of copyright holders and publishers, and we require
all members to affirm that they hold the copyright or have permission for the
content that they upload. If we receive a notice that content infringes another
party's copyright, the member's account may be terminated and the content will
be removed from MyEduTube.com. For more information on this, read our Terms of Use

How do I report copyright infringement?
If you believe you are the copyright holder of a video that has been posted
to MyEduTube.com by one of our users, please notify us immediately at
copyright@myedutube.com.
We will take all the necessary and appropriate action needed and provided by law
to remedy the situation. This is according to the Digital Millennium
Copyright Act of 1998 (DMCA).
What if I have been falsely accused
of copyright infringement?
We will notify you if we receive a copyright complaint about any of your videos
hosted on MyEduTube.com. We will also give you an opportunity to file a DMCA counter-notification.
How do I report inappropriate
videos?
If you see a video that you think is inappropriate and goes against our terms
of use, report it to us for review by clicking the "Flag as Inappropriate"
link under the video. MyEduTube, Inc., will review the flagged video and take
appropriate action.
What if I don't receive my verification
email?
First, check both your email inbox and your junk mail folder for our
confirmation email. If you can't find it, resend it from the MyEduTube.com
website. Make sure you spell your email address correctly to receive
